You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, email, phone, or VIN.
What a verdict stores
- The version you are rating, and the version you came from
- Your verdict, and any issue tags you check
- Hardware, model, country, and state if you add one
- The time of the submission
- A hash of a random id stored in a cookie on this browser
- A hash of your network address
What it does not store
- The raw network address. We hash it with a secret salt and do not keep the address. The hash is how a second verdict for the same version, from the same network, is turned away.
- Free-text comments. There is no box for a story. Do not put personal details in any field. There is nowhere for them to go.
The cookie
The cookie is named fsd_device. It is a random string, marked so page scripts cannot read it. We store a hash of it, not the cookie itself. Clearing the cookie does not let you vote again on the same network, because the network hash still matches.
Bot check
Submitting uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that the form was sent by a person rather than a script. Turnstile is Cloudflare's service. If this site is hosted on Cloudflare, Cloudflare also sees the request, including the network address, as the host. That address is not copied into the site database.
Sample data
If you run the site on your own computer with the setup command, the numbers include fake sample reports. The page says so. Those fake rows are not part of a production deploy.
Removal
A verdict is stored without your name, so there is no account page that can look up "your" row. One verdict is kept per version for each browser and network.
